Great Lean & Six Sigma materials from MIT OpenCourseWare

September 4th, 2007 | By: Martin Arrand

Sometimes I find something on the web that I need to share right away. This is one of those times.

MIT OpenCourseWare is a great project to provide an “open educational resource” for educators and students across the world by publishing course material from MIT on the web.

I’d like to point you in the direction of 2 pages crammed with pdf files of lecture slides for two courses in MIT’s engineering syllabus. They are:

I have not had time to examine all of the slide sets in detail (there are about 50 in total across both courses), but they cover a wide variety of topics and are well referenced with their sources. Notably, they give good coverage to the “soft side” of Lean, and organisational issues in Lean implementations.

Anyone who is looking for presentational material for Lean training or management briefing will find a great deal to work on here.
